Shane has a passion for God and people! He is convinced that the church needs to create environments that make it easy for people to come into a relationship with Jesus Christ.  A place that accepts and loves people without judgment!  A place that helps people become all that God desires for them.  As a result, Shane and his wife of 23 years, Jennifer, a Decatur native, decided to plant Passion Community Church, in his hometown, Mt. Zion, in Sept. 2011.

Shane has been in the ministry for 18 years, serving as a Youth Pastor at two different churches and Campus Pastor of TrueNorth Church Decatur.  Shane graduated from Mt. Zion High School, 1988, and continued his education at Olivet Nazarene University, in Kankakee, IL.  At Olivet, Shane earned his Bachelor's Degree while playing four years of baseball and basketball.  He then became the Graduate Assistant for the Men's Basketball team and earned his Masters in Teaching.  Sensing God's call into full-time Christian ministry, Shane and Jennifer moved to Louisville, Kentucky, to attend The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In Louisville, he also became a teacher and coach at Evangel Christian School before eventually becoming a Youth Pastor in Illinois.

Shane and Jennifer have three children, Drew (19), Alli (17), and Sage (15). Drew attends Olivet Nazarene University, while Alli and Sage attend Mt. Zion High School! Jennifer works at Dell's Popcorn Shop and Substitutes at the elementary schools. Shane enjoys spending time with his wife, playing golf, is passionate about the "Fighting" Illini and Cardinal Baseball, and is the Mt. Zion High School Girls Basketball Coach.
